The Past Fuels the Now

Look down

from above

at what has blossomed

and what has faded.

The past

simply fuels

The NOW.

The in-between times of having executed a project, wrapped up particular affairs, or met the most recent goal can feel like we’re standing in a room with too much space. “What now?” The seed we sewed has done its work, produced its offspring, and is now dormant. It’s quiet here. There may be hints of what next, but how do we know the pull of right action? What is the proper way to shuffle about until Purpose rings our bells? Relax. Worry. (If you have to, if it's productive for you.) Then start to explore this space. Make it yours. Walk its perimeters and see if you can locate its center. What does it feel like? Make friends with Slim Pickings. Take Not Much To Do for a walk. A season of rest comes naturally after the harvest. Let it be. When the emptiness and silence is allowed to come, so too will the next thing.

In the between time, when we meet the stillness and refuse to fill the empty as we await the 'right next thing' ... it can be easy to become impatient and start moving too soon. Wait for the impulse to move you. Let the season of rest come. Let the past fuel the NOW. Yes!

At the same time, I have stayed in the season of rest for too long, which has become inertia. Sometimes you just need to take a step, any step, to see where Love wants to move you. 😍
